BB Couture-Hermosa Surfer Girl

BB Couture has quickly become one of my fav. brands of polish. I just love how they do glitters! They know how to do glitter right! These pics. are from a couple of weeks ago, so my nails were just a little shorter, but you can still see the awesomeness that is Hermosa Surfer Girl. It's a dark pink, berry jelly with multi-coloured glitter...green,gold,silver and blue. This polish is definitely in my top ten favs. LOVE it! It is quite sheer. I did four coats to get the bottle look.

The bottle.....isn't it HOT?!

Nfu-Oh #45

First of all, hello and WELCOME to my new followers! I'm happy to have you. :-) Forgive me if I'm a little slow at first. I'm just getting into this, and so far, so good. I think anyway. I'm enjoying it!

Today I have Nfu-Oh #45 on my nails. It's one of my new birthday gifts. I'm loving this color! It's like fire in a bottle. Very red/orange with flakes. I did four coats, but could have gotten away with three. I could still see some VNL with three, so I went ahead with another coat. I used Vite as a top coat, and even with so many coats of polish on, it still dried fairly fast. That's my kind of polish! ;-)

New Wet n Wild.....Based on TV shows!

Two posts in one day! I'm doing ok with this whole blogging thing....I think. Although, I don't know why my pics. are so darn big?! I've resized them twice, but they keep showing up huge! I'm using photobucket if that helps any? Anyway, if anyone knows what I'm doing wrong let me know! (THANKS TO JEN for helping me figure it out!) I guess I need some followers first. LOL! Anyway, I'm sure that most of you have seen the new Wet n Wild vacation destination polishes. The cremes and the shimmers? Here's a pic....
Photobucket

Yeah, those. Well, I've been looking for them FOREVER it seems, with no luck. Those and the new Milani metals. I had a free day today, and decided to go for a drive looking for them. Yet again. I went to not one,not two, but EIGHT CVS/Walgreens stores! Yes, eight. Can you say I'm a little obsessed with finding them?! Do you think I found them? A big fat NO. Ugh. I don't know why they aren't anywhere around here. Anyway, as I was heading home, I decided to stop at one more WG. I didn't even take my money in with me, as I was pretty sure I'd just be running in and back out again. I go in, look all over, and you guessed it, Nothing. Just as I'm heading out, a new display that is half hidden catches my eye. There they were! The Wet n Wild collection I'd been looking for. Or so I thought. I run out, grab my purse, run back in, and start grabbing one of each up. Then I look at them a little closer and realize that it is not them! However, it is a NEW Craze collection that I have not seen or heard about yet. I was a little disappointed that they weren't the polishes I'd thought I'd found, but I got four of them anyway. There were about eight all together I think. I go pay for them, and my total comes up to $6.48! The polishes are $1.99 each, but they were buy one get one half off. I would have bought more of them, if I had known that. I still might go get a couple more, but I also still want the other collection!!! UGH! I WILL find them!

Here are the colors I did get:

The Wonder Yellows,How I Met Your Magenta,Gray's Anatomy and The Gold & The Beautiful

All were two coats, and application was really good. None of them were streaky. Surprising even The Wonder Yellows. I do think this might be a first. A non streaky yellow! :-)

Gray's Anatomy....I have to admit, part of me bought this just for the name. It's one of my all time fav. shows. I ended up really liking it once I tired it.

Have you seen this collection? What do you think of it?

Hello and Birthday Nails!

Hello nail world! :-) I'm new to this, but have been wanting to start a blog for awhile now. I had intended to start this on my birthday, which was this past Wed. (June 23)but WOW! What a day I ended up having. The night before, I ended up going to a hotel with my two dogs at around 10pm. Our air conditioner decided to stop working, and it was around 102 degrees. It was awful. We bought an entire new system two years ago, so we were NOT happy with it going out. The day of my birthday, I wake up feeling sick. Great. My husband calls, and informs me that he's going to have to drive three and a half hours away, to get the part of the air conditioner that has gone out. Just wonderful. Awesome that the air will be fixed, but not so cool that my entire birthday has to be taken up with it all. I check out of the hotel with my dogs and go home. The heat got to be unbearable for my dogs, so I ended up taking them to the vet for the day and night. Poor dogs were not happy campers. At least they were cool though. I on the other hand, was not. I basically spent the day sitting around sick, and trying to stay cool. Didn't happen. We managed to make it through the night, and the air did get fixed the next day. Thank goodness! Was able to celebrate my b-day then. It was still good, just not on my day. Ah, well. I guess that's what being a grown up is about huh? I did end up getting a TON of awesome nail polish though! I mean a lot. As in over 20 bottles. Lots of BB Couture, some Nfu-Oh,Orly,Lippmann etc....I will be swatching them all over the next few weeks. :-) I did manage to do a birthday mani on my day. I bought Happy Birthday from the Lippmann Collection several months back. It was hard to get, but I had to have it. I wanted to use it on my b-day. I ended up using China Glaze For Audrey with Happy Birthday over top. I really liked it, and got quite a few compliments from strangers on it. So, I guess I did ok. ;-)

Before I post pics. I have to warn you, that my cuticles are not in the best shape. I'm working on it though. My nails aren't super long, but I'm working on growing them out. I've had acrylic nails on for years. I finally decided I'd had enough with them for awhile, and wanted to grow my own out again. So, I'm in the process of getting my nails healthy again. I'm getting there. Any tips or advice would be great too!

Ok, on to the pics! :-)
